About Ashley Potthoff

Hello, my name is Ashley Potthoff and I understand how therapy can feel terrifying, overwhelming, and at times, exhausting. Through my own journey with therapy, I have experienced the struggles that can come from feeling uncomfortable with a therapist. That is why I prioritize building rapport and relationships within the therapeutic setting, specializing in working with women struggling with anxiety and depression. My goal is to have you feeling comfortable, safe, and open for every session. My intention in this setting is not to give advice, but to give you the opportunity to have an outlet to help guide you to the places you would like to be in life. I understand that everyone's minds, lifestyles, and stage in life look different. This is why I will always be willing to meet you where you are at and build from there. My priority will always be you, the client, and ensuring I do everything within my ability to help you along the journey you are on.

My Background:

My whole life, I always knew I wanted to support people on their therapeutic journey. When starting at the University of Denver in 2018, I knew I wanted to continue with graduate school in order to become a clinical therapist. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Criminology, which carried me into my Master's program at the University of Denver for Forensic Psychology. I earned my Master's in June 2023. I have been working as a clinical intern for Teaching Humane Existence, serving justice involved individuals in offense-specific work since December 2022. From this workplace, I have been able to work on building rapport with young adults and women, and through my education, have been honing my skills on how to help individuals process anxiety and depression. I am excited to be able to apply my experiences and skill sets I have developed from my educational and professional career so far to support my new clients at My Time Counseling.
